Photographer or Terrorist?

I’m a bit behind the times on this one, but this was reported on photographernotaterrorist.org (direct link here) back in December.

A well known architectural photographer Grant Smith was taking pictures of a public building in a public place (since when was that illegal?) when he was approached by a (ill informed and aggressive) security guard from a local building.

Having declined to give his details, as is his right, 3 police vehicles turned up after he had been reported for suspected terrorist activity.

A full report on this incident is on ITV here

Surely the next stop from here is to issue permits to photographers giving the police full artistic approval?

thanks

Gary
