Yarrow Valley Country Park Pt 1
This is the first of two posts showing off some of the images that I shot over last weekend. It was another great sunny day so we decided to go for a walk somewhere that we hadn’t been before. A quick look on the internet at local parks and we picked Yarrow Valley County Park, in Chorley.
Above is a nice panoramic image stitched together using Photoshop’s built in panoramic function, overall I’m pretty much happy with it, my only niggle is that the sky seems a little inconsistent, but in lieu of anything better I’m content with it.
This image is looking out over “Big Lodge” which is the larger of the two fishing lakes (build on the site of an old colliery I believe).
The area around the park is fairly dense woodland, as we are only just in spring, its looking a little sparse. Once the leaves on the trees fully develop, it’ll be much more impressive.
This is a smaller lake where fishing isn’t permitted, its looks like its been set aside as a mini nature reserve.
This is the weir at the very edge of the park, controlling the flow of the River Yarrow. The area the park is built on was heavily industrialised and inevitable contrained mills that ran off this river.
Thats all for now, part 2 will follow later this week.
