A Walk to the Shops – pt2
As mentioned in a previous post I recently spent a nice sunny lunchtime having a stroll around Bolton. As well as a few black & white images snapped with Hipstamatic on the iPhone, I also took a couple in colour.
This is a grit bin, and apart from its vibrant yellow colour (which is what caught my eye) is nothing special. It simply stands sentinel guarding against an icy pavement directly outside the college. The processing done via Hipstamatic really makes the yellow jump from the image.
This image was taken on Stanley Street which sits directly between Bolton College and Bolton Sixth Form College. In the image, you can see the reflections of the Sixth Form building in the zinc plating on the side of the building. I really like the angles of the architecture on the buildings, from the front, they both look modern and square fronted, but peak around the back and you can see all sorts of textures, shapes and angles.
